Sinop, the capital of the namesake province in the Black Sea region, is picturesquely situated on the Boztepe peninsula, at the northernmost tip of Turkey.
It can be said that the best natural harbour is found on this coast. Colourful fishing boats with traditional wood carvings are gently sailing on the reflection of the lush mountains. Hamsilos Fjord, the only fjord in Turkey, is also located in the area.
